Joining AAIIG

Membership and participation terms.

A summary of fees and admission requirements. Legal membership is governed by AAIIG's Constitution.

Fees and annual benefits

Published fees are total Australian dollar amounts. No GST is currently charged. Annual benefits run for 12 months from joining and renewal is handled manually, with no automatic charge. The annual benefit period does not automatically end legal membership or remove legal membership rights.

Application and admission

Payment alone does not create legal membership. An applicant must agree in writing to become a Member and be bound by the Constitution. Legal Members agree to contribute up to AUD $10 if the company winds up while they are a Member or within 1 year after they cease to be a Member.

The Board may admit or refuse an application. Legal membership begins when the applicant is entered in the register of Members after the fee is paid or waived.

Individual and organisation votes

Each admitted Individual Member and Organisation Member has 1 vote. An organisation acts through its company representative. Staff nominations and member event pricing do not create additional organisation votes.

Fellowship requires an approved application; recognition does not create an additional vote.

Affiliates and sponsors

Student / Early Career participation is an affiliate category, not legal membership. Affiliates have no vote and do not provide the Member's winding-up guarantee.

Partnership and sponsorship payments do not themselves create legal membership or extra votes. Any included organisation membership follows the same admission process. Sponsorship benefits are agreed directly with AAIIG.
